First Powered Gauging Run
(Sandilands - Beckenham Junction / Elmers End)

Thursday 7th October 1999 (0900 - 1800)

See photos below text: -

For this test, two trams were used. 2536 ran ahead of 2533 (In Nescafe Livery) to Beckenham Jn. At Loops and at Beckenham, one tram went on each track to assess Clearance on the Points and Signal Sighting.

The two trams reached Beckenham at about 15.00 and returned to Arena by 16.00. Then both disappeared off in the direction of Croydon where 2533 changed tracks. Not sure where this happened (Probably Sandilands). Both trams returned to Arena by 16.45, 2536 was parked on the Croydon bound track of the Beckenham Branch while 2533 ran into Elmers End. After a few clearance tests it did a run into the Cripple Siding.

Many thanks to Derek Willis and John Bradshaw for Covering the Event while I was in a fascinating Lecture on Digital Systems!
